Guide
to Canoeing in Maine
By Steven Merusi
Majority of the United States may have been developed into industrial
and commercial areas but there are still some areas that have remained
close to Mother Nature. Maine has been aptly called the Sunrise County
not only because of its location but also due to its serene surroundings.
While its neighbors have been developed into suburban districts, Maine
continues to boast a rich forest and wilderness as well as vast water
resources including rivers and lakes that are favorable for canoeing.
Consequently, it may be because of its far-flung location that Maine has
managed to remain isolated and rich in natural and wildlife resources.<<more>>

Thrills in Maine

As a New England state, Maine offers a rugged coastline with lots of beauty.
This and the internal waterways make grabbing a kayak and exploring the
waterways a surreal experience.
Enjoying the beautiful Atlantic Ocean is a favorite vacation for many
families. The coast off of New England is a perfect spot to see the breathtaking
northern views of the East Coast, and people flock there from all over
the world to enjoy the climate and scenery. Maine is the place that a

River Canoe Guide
By Cynthia Olga
Hundreds of miles of lake and river comprises the Allagash river. For
this reason, this river in Maine is famous for its canoeing. It is one
of the most ideal canoeing spots in the world. One could not easily find
a body of water like it which seems to be tailored and fitted to the art
of canoeing. Of course, part of their booming canoeing industry is the
abundance of canoe guides who claim to help maximize one's canoeing experience
in the famous river. There are many guides out there, but you must pick
the best, depending on your skill level, needs and available budget.
Beginners might have no qualms about it, but even experts in canoeing
might need to employ the services of an allagash river canoe guide during
their trip. Having a canoe guide is important. Different water kinds,
like people, have different moods and temperaments. Any well-meaning tourist
would choose to have a guide if he is headed for the river. The needs
of other rivers open for canoeing are different, and require some other
kind of training and expertise. This should be something inherently discerned
by every would-be tourist or visitor to a canoeing spot such as Allagash.<<more>>
